When installing superbike engines into supercars one of the first areas for consideration is lubrication. This is one of the single biggest areas where problems arise. The lack of lean angle, higher levels of grip and huge braking forces will enevitably push the engine into oil surge conditions. There are many ways of dealing with this from simple baffling through billet sumps to dry sumping and accusumping. The method employed will vary depending on engine, application and install. It is important to remember that oil surge is subjective, a vehicle exhibiting no signs of surge when driven on the road can suddenly suffer massively when pushed hard on the track, change tyres from a road type to something with much more grip or a racing slick and again problems can be encountered At AB Performance we offer a solution for most applications - see our products section for more details.
